What to expect at our Pilates classes

We teach mat Pilates, the most popular and accessible type of Pilates as the only equipment you need is a mat. We sometimes like to use other small pieces of equipment to enhance the exercise, such as resistance bands, blocks, soft balls and foam rollers.

During one of our Pilates classes, you’ll move mindfully through a range of movements that focus on alignment, breathing and core stability (A-B-C), as well as all the other main principles of Pilates.

As well as teaching you the exercises, our classes are all about using our expert knowledge to talk you through the science behind them and the medical benefits that each one brings.

Each five week block is different from the previous, teaching you new Pilates exercises and focusing on new areas that will help you to develop and improve.

Time for you

We keep our Pilates classes intimate (a maximum of 11 participants) so that we can give you the attention that you deserve.

It allows us to tailor our exercises to you and gives us the time to explain how each Pilates exercise works and why it is needed. And we find that our groups form better friendships and closer bonds when there are fewer people.

Beginner Pilates Classes

Are you looking for Pilates lessons for beginners in Reading? You’ve come to the right place!

We don’t have a specific Pilates class for beginners – all of our classes have a mixture of abilities and they’re all suitable for people who are new to Pilates and those with experience.

We completely understand that it can be scary when joining a new Pilates class and everyone around you seems to know what they’re doing.

Please don’t worry! When anyone new joins one of our Pilates classes we start by teaching you all the basic principles, then we’ll slowly build up your strength and confidence. Our groups are all very supportive, you’ll be made to feel very welcome!

If you’re new to Pilates then you may wish to begin with a one to one Pilates session before joining a group Pilates class. It’s a great way to start your journey as the session will allow us to work with you on a very tailored plan that suits your body and your lifestyle perfectly.

It’s also a great way to gain some confidence before making that step into a group Pilates class, ideal for anyone who may feel self-conscious about their knowledge or ability.
